What kind of equipment do you use in classes?

What kind of equipment do you use in classes? Our choice of Functional Training Apparatus follows the exercise science standards set by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). We focus on movement patterns that involve multiple joints at once. This approach is more effective for heart health and muscle coordination than using standard weight machines.

For cardio and metabolic work, we use Concept2 Rowers and Air Bikes. These tools help improve VO2 max, which is a key metric in ACSM guidelines. For the strength portions of the Level 5 Workout, we use the following gear:

  • TRX® Suspension Trainers: Used for bodyweight exercises and stability.
  • Heavy Sleds and Medicine Balls: Used for power and endurance.
  • Specialized Dumbbells: Used for traditional strength training.

Using functional tools instead of fixed machines makes your 45-minute workout more efficient. Every piece of equipment in the studio is there to help you build strength that you can actually use outside of the gym.
